Happy Thursday--Let Me Introduce You To....

Hi Girls-

Happy Thursday!  You've almost made it to the weekend---be proud of yourself!  I don't know where y'all live but here is NC, it has been insanely hot.  Like 100 degrees every single day for the last two weeks hot!  Like 95 degrees at 10 o'clock PM hot!  I am over it and it's not even July yet.  And yes, I am one of those people who complain about the cold weather too.  Just sayin'.

Today, I am linking up with the fabulous Vanessa and Penny for a little thing they call...
I've been talking about this post for the past few weeks but life got in the way and I just haven't been able to get it out there.  But I'm so excited that today I'm introducing y'all to one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world.  She's the person that knows my deepest, darkest secrets.  She's the person who has really seen me at my best and my worst.  She's the person who has been my biggest cheerleader my entire life.  And she's the person that I used to get in trouble all the time as a little girl.  She's my sister and I'm super excited for y'all to get to know her a little more.  So I played a little 10 Questions with her.  But before I get into all of that, let me just give you a quick introduction of my sis!

This is Stephanie.  And you can read her blog here.  I think she's pretty fabulous and I'm sure you will too so make sure you show her some love over on her blog after you get done reading this :)  My sister is one of the most selfless people I know.  She's my co-hort in party planning, the photographer for every event anyone has, the craftiest person ever and the maker of most all my burlap items in my house and the most genuine person you will ever meet. She's a bit older---which means she's wiser and she's been married to the love of her life, the super awesome RC, since December 2011.  I don't know what I would do without her in my life.

Alright girls, let's get into it!  Here's my sister...enjoy!

Tell me something about where you live that no one would know unless they lived there too.
Always a Carolina girl, newly transplanted to South Carolina in the last few years - things that I appreciate that some may not quite get -

"Bless your heart" is heard often out of my mouth as well as most folks I know and it can mean anything from "oh honey, I'm so sorry to hear that" to "oh good grief, common sense has obviously skipped over you", snow days happen when the weather man forecasts more than a flake and mass hysteria ensues when it actually sticks to the ground - no bread or milk in a tri state area will be found, and Sweet tea is the standard (if you want unsweet, you have to ask and you'll probably get a "bless your heart" in your waitresses' mind)

What’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure activity is my love of TOO many TV shows, past and present. I loved The West Wing (and still watch it on dvd), my current favorites are The Blacklist, The Americans, Under the Dome, NCIS (all 3), Deadliest Catch, Blue Bloods, Hawaii 5-0, American Idol, Allegiance, Secrets and Lies, 19 Kids and Counting, Nashville….oh the list goes on and on.

My guilty food pleasures are ice cream, Reese’s cups and Twix bars and fountain Cherry Coke.  (now I’m craving ALL of the above)

Do you have a celebrity crush?
Matthew McConaughey, for sure! I loved him all the way back in A Time to Kill, We are Marshall and most recently in Interstellar and Mud is a random movie of his I just watched on Amazon Prime. He is just...yummy. I could, however, do without the silly series of car commercials he has done of late - they just don't work for me.

If you were stuck on an island and could only bring 3 things (excluding your family—they’ll already be there), what would they be?
I suppose I could be practical and say food, water and shelter, but what fun would that be? I would have to say my laptop with wifi access (how else will I use Pinterest to make things out of coconuts and palm trees like the Professor on Gilligan’s Island?)  Light coffee AND Chocolate Caramel Creamer (they must count as one item because I can’t drink it any other way and you don’t want to be stranded with me for too many days without caffeine and my creamer) and my pets (2 pekingeses Max and Maddie and 6  chickens Peppermint Patty, Gracie Lou, Darla Jean, Holly Hobbie, Shelby Lynn and Emma Rae)

What’s playing on your iPod (or Pandora, radio, etc) right now?
Great Things (Worth it All) by Elevation Worship and Kyle Wilkinsons "All for You" album (he's the worship pastor at New River Church in Lake Wylie, SC)

Last book you read.
Other than my Bible, the last book series I read was the Emma Holden Suspense Mystery Trilogy by Paul Pinkington over Memorial Day weekend - I loved it! I got the first one as a free download on my Kindle and purchased the second and third books - I read them all in one weekend! Not heavy reading and released in 2013, but good summertime reads if you haven’t read them yet.

Favorite Season.
Fall! Especially when the leaves change and even more when I get to travel to the NC mountains for a little leaf viewing trip.  I love the smells of fall – pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves and the crunch of leaves under my feet in the yard.  When I still had my home daycare – I loved to pile the leaves up for the kids and watch them demolish it – fun times!  This picture is from way back in 2006, but I love it!

My favorite mountain top spot to visit anytime of year, but fall is my favorite, is the Biltmore House is Asheville, NC – the scenery on the property is just breathtaking!

Where do you like to vacation?
The beach!  We “camp” in our travel trailer some friends and family and it’s my favorite place to be, bar none!  Rest, relaxation and sand between my toes – I am literally a happy camper!

What’s one 90’s fashion trend you could bring back if you could?
Big hair of COURSE!  I love, love, loved BIG permed hair, bangs and enough Rave #4 hairspray to create my own little personal hole in the ozone layer.

If you could have any job for one day, what would it be?
I would be a undercover agent on some top secret covert mission where I have all kinds of crazy skills to get the bad guy and still have supper on the table that night.  I’ve watched too many spy shows like Jennifer Garner’s Alias…but how fun would that be?!?!

OK girls, that's all I have for today.   I hope you had as much fun "meeting" my sister as I did writing about her.  I think she is fabulous!   Come back tomorrow when I'm sharing my Friday Favorites of the week.
